5357ab0914125.preview-300Joanne A. Rossi (nee Giovanna ‘Jennie’ Grimaldi) of Yardley, formerly of Newark, N.J., passed away at home surrounded by her family Monday, April 21, 2014. She was 95.

Born in Springfield, N.J., she had been a long time resident of Newark before moving to Yardley, in 2005.

Joanne worked at RCA Victor and Hygrade Meat Packing Plant in Newark, N.J., in support of World War II. She belonged to the Children of Mary Rosary Society at St. Rocco’s Church before meeting and marrying the love of her life Thomas G. Rossi (Gaetano) in 1946.

She was the beloved wife of Thomas; devoted mother of Joanne, Thomas, Phyllis and Carole. She was the daughter of Dominic Grimaldi and Anna (Purpura) and was preceded in death by siblings, Nancy, Mecurio, Philip, Jack, Lucy, Trudy, Angela, Rosie and Angelo. She was the loving grandmother to Kristin, Justin, Marc, Thomas, Michael and Bree; great grandmother to J.T., Brady, Brayden, Ava Grey, Alexa and one on it’s way. A wonderful mother-in-law to William T. Meyer, aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews and cousin to late Prince Rainier of the House of Grimaldi in Monaco.

The funeral will be from FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S, Delaware Avenue, Yardley, PA at 8 a.m. Friday. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 752 Big Oak Road, Morrisville. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, N. Arlington, N.J. Linda J. Lukacs of Bethesda, Md., formerly of Fort Washington, Pa. and Yardley, Pa., died peacefully Sunday, April 6, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was 67.

Beloved daughter of the late Mary and Joseph Lukacs; she is survived by two sisters, Dr. Susan Lukacs and Carol Miller (Larry); nephews, Andrew (Jen) and Bryan Miller; an uncle, Frank Pletyak, and by other loving family and friends.

Linda was a graduate of Juniata College and was a scientist with Merck from which she retired. She loved to travel and be with family and friends. Her radiant smile will be missed.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. John the Evangelist Church in Lower Makefield, where friends may call from 8:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Hamilton Township, N.J.
