Eileen Cassin Gallen Bademan died after a 12 month battle with cancer on Thursday, July 25, 2013. She was 49.
Eileen was graduated from Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Flourtown, PA in 1982 and received a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing form Villanova University in 1986. She was a Registered Nurse at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne since 2009. St. Mary’s honored Eileen with the “Eileen Gallen Inspirational Award”, an honor that will be awarded annually to recognize “the spirit of nursing and those who inspire us to be more.”
Eileen also was a well-respected Editorial Manager for HealthCom Media (2006-2009); Clinical Manager, Wolters Kluwer Health, Lippincott, Williams and Wilkins (1998-2006), where she proudly published A Daybook for Critical Care Nurses (journal of inspiration with quotes, ideas and clinical tips) and contributed to the annual publication of Nurses Drug Handbook; a staff nurse in the ICU at Williamsport Hospital (1991-1998); and a staff nurse at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (1986-1991).
Eileen will be remembered for being kind, compassionate and hilarious! She loved the beach and above all, she loved her family and friends.
Daughter of Joseph and Joan Cassin, Eileen was the beloved wife of Steve Bademan. Eileen was the loving mother of Lauren and Kate and stepmother of Nicole, Sarah and Steven. Eileen was adored by her siblings, Tom Cassin (Bonnie), Mary Rude (Robert), Margaret Carpi (David) and Dr. Maureen Cassin (Dr. Barry Kenneally) and niece/nephews Mary and Joseph Cassin, and Austin Carpi. She was cherished by her in-laws, Charles Sr. and Kathleen Bademan, Charles Bademan Jr. (Kathleen); Charles III and Sean; Kathleen Galliher (Jeffrey) and Breann.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 5 until 10 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 until 9 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church followed by Rite of Committal at Resurrection Cemetery.
