Born in Philadelphia, the son of Rosemarie (Cimino) and James F. McMahon, Sr., Jim was raised in Levittown but relocated to the Washington, DC area for many years after college. A grade school reunion with a twist of fate prompted his permanent return to the Levittown area.
Jim graduated from Bishop Egan High School and Drexel University. With his BSA degree he worked for over 25 years in the industry as a CPA specializing in corporate real estate accounting.
Always an adventurous spirit, Jim ventured across the U.S. as well as traveling abroad. His fascination with other cultures had him running with the bulls in Spain, participating in the Holi Hindu festival of colors in India and enjoying a pint in a London pub.
But Jim’s true passion was his music. He was a gifted musician with an unlimited dedication to his craft. Over the years he enjoyed working on countless music projects with like-minded friends. Jim’s electric taste gave him an appreciation for all types of music genres. A longtime collector, Jim cherished all of his instruments with a special fondness for anything stringed.
Jim was the beloved husband of Denise (Fullam) and the devoted step-father and special friend of Lonnie Dearing. He was the loving brother of Mary Ann May (John), Barbara Hare (Douglas) and Stephen J. McMahon (Victoria). He will also be sadly missed by nieces and nephews, extended family and many longtime friends.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, from 2:00 until 5:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Saint John the Evangelist Church, 752 Big Oak Road, Morrisville on Monday at 10:30 am with a calling hour starting at 9:30 am. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jim’s name may be made to Family Service Association of Bucks County, 515 S. West End Blvd., #9, Quakertown, PA 18951.
