52a97ea10abf9.preview-300Robert A. Michels Sr. passed away on Tuesday Dec. 10, 2013 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania at the age of 80.

A resident of Lower Makefield Township for over 45 years, Bob was born in New York, N.Y. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. Bob was graduated from New York University. He worked for many years for Sperry Univac and McGraw Hill. In recent years Bob enjoyed traveling the world and visiting many different countries. An avid photographer, he has collected over 10,000 pictures of his travels.

Bob was the beloved husband of the late Frances M. Michels and loving father of the late Robert A. Michels Jr.; son of the late George and Blanche Michels; and brother of the late Henry Franklin and George Michels.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted children, Christina M. Marks (Theodore), and Gregory J. Michels (Reed Evins); his grandchildren, Brian T. Marks (Dara), Kyle R. Marks, and Colin P. Marks; in addition his companion, Marilyn Behler.

Family and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 10 a.m. on Friday at FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S. Delaware Avenue (River Road), Yardley, PA, where friends may call from 9 a.m.

Bob will join his wife of 35 years in burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y.
