Marie Lavey of Langhorne and Boca Raton passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2013; she was 80 years old. Marie was born in Ireland on January 29, 1933, the daughter of Thomas and Mary Egan. She came to the United States in 1956; she settled and raised her family in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. Marie ran a successful catering business in Newton, PA before she eventually retired.
Marie was the ultimate host; she loved entertaining and arranging fabulous parties. She also enjoyed traveling with Alfred; making new friends and discovering the world. She was a woman of many facets and charms.
Marie is survived by her loving husband Alfred; devoted sons Glenn and his wife Sandra, Frank and his wife Krislyn, and Neil; cherished grandchildren Shawn, Kelly, Jade, and Jack. She also leaves behind her sisters Anne Fagan and Rosaline Kunick; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. She leaves a legacy of love and precious memories; she will be forever missed.
Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, November 3rd from 6 to 9 PM at the Swartz/Givnish Funeral Home, 323 Washington Ave., Newtown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November, 4 at 9:30 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 752 Big Oak Road, Morrisville, PA. Interment will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newton, PA.
